90210's Matt Lanter Dishes on Season 3

Matt Lanter opens up on 90210's upcoming gay bombshell, what’s next in store for his character, and why Zac Efron would play him in a biopic of his life:
Q: Do you know who’s coming out?
A: Yeah, I know.
Q: Are you comfortable with who’s coming out?
I can’t tell you guys anything. I’m being very tight lipped. This is one of the things, they don’t do this often, but they actually sent out a statement saying “Hey guys, don’t talk about it.” Yeah, so I can’t tell you much. But you know what? Whoever it’s going to be, he’s going to have a monumental task on hand. It’s a subject that’s very real and prevalent in high schools now than it was 10 years ago. From what I understand, they are going to be doing it in a very serious way. It’s not going to be one episode off one on kind of thing. It’s going to be a season-long kind of thing. It’s going to add a new element to the show.
Q: They’ve been giving you some pretty challenging storylines.
A: It’s been great. I hope I get to see more. Last year, we got to see Liam’s dad. There was a run-in with his stepfather. More of that. Keep it coming. I think the fans want to know about Liam. They want to know what he’s about. We got a little of it last year.
Q: Is there a danger of a character we’ve been introduced to as straight coming out after Adrianna’s storyline?
A: Well, I don’t know. See is the difference. That was kind of done a couple of episodes, kind of dabbled in. But this one, they’re going for it all the way. It’s done. I guess that’s what I mean by taking it serious. This character is going to struggle, this character is going to find himself, and a lot of that is going to be shown. Where last year with the Adrianna thing, oh, OK, this is what we’re doing for a couple of episodes, and then we’re done. So I think this going to be done very differently.
Q: What’s up for Liam this season?
A: He’s been with Annie a little bit. There’s a little bit more of a romantic relationship with Annie. It started to blossom a little at the end of last season. Now we share a kiss this season and it goes a little farther. And yeah. I got a half brother coming in. Last year, we had Liam teasing her a little bit. Then last year, we saw them as friends, having an emotional connection. Different from Naomi, which was just physical. We’ll see if it stays. We know on 90210, it’s breakups and heartaches.
Q: Who would play you biopic?
A: Zac Efron. He’s a good leading man, he’s out there. It’s all about the hair. I’ve met him and he’s a real cool guy, so maybe him.

Pretty Little Liars: "The Perfect Storm" Sneak Peek Videos

We predicted that Ali's bro Jason wouldn't return home without causing some drama, and now "The Perfect Storm" is coming to Rosewood. Don't believe us? Just check out two brand-new clips from next Tuesday's episode of Pretty Little Liars.
Officer Wilden, still searching for Ali's killer, is breathing down the girls' necks for answers. He's trying to chip away at their solidarity, and is his plan working? Emily's obviously hiding her fling with Maya, and Spencer, Aria, and Hanna are growing suspicious. Em needs to 'fess up before the girls question everything she does.
In the next clip, nasty weather forces Aria indoors with Noel and that leads to a singing session and (almost) makeout sesh. But who interrupts them? Our bet is Mr. Fitz, but we didn't need a magic ball to tell us that, just Lucy Hale.
She dishes, "It's not the end of the Fitz and Montgomery relationship. There's a little question about where he's gone, is he gone for good? Because in the books he goes away and when he goes away, he goes away for good, but it's not the end of it."

'Pretty Little Liars' Ashley Benson: 'A huge secret gets out' in 'The Perfect Storm'

"Pretty Little Liars" penultimate episode, "The Perfect Storm," traps everyone at school. Ashley Benson tells Zap2it that it will not end well for one of the girls.
"A huge secret gets out for one of the main girls," says Benson. "We all have to take our SATs, so everybody's stuck at school. There's certain people that come into the school where we're all stuck. Detective Wilden, anytime he's around ... there's just a lot of things that happen that shouldn't ... It kind of destroys somebody."
Detective Wilden (Bryce Johnson) isn't the only problem in Hanna's life, though. She has a budding love triangle with her boyfriend Sean (Chuck Hittinger) and friend Lucas (Brendan Robinson).
"Right now [Hanna and Lucas are] trying their friendship. They know what it was like to be the outcasts ... she saw what Alison did to him, she's a huge support system for him," Benson explains. "I know a lot of the fans want us to become boyfriend/girlfriend. I have no idea what the writers are going to do, but Brendan is really great, so we'll see what happens."
When pressed to declare if Hanna actually has feelings for Lucas as more than a friend, Benson admits, "I think she's starting to have feelings for him, but she's just scared to let herself because of who he is. But since Alison's gone, she's a stronger person. She's more down-to-earth and not as stuck up as she was. She stands up to Mona now ... Hanna doesn't really care anymore about her status, she's more real and who she really is."
Benson also teases that there is a big event looming for Hanna in the last two "Pretty Little Liars" episodes before the midseason break.
"We have a lot of new characters that are being introduced in these last couple episodes ... that create problems. In the very last episode, there's a huge thing that happens for my character and it's going to change a lot about my storyline. It's really good."

Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec: The Love Triangle Becomes a Square

Villain vampire Katherine, who once turned the Salvatore brothers into sexy undead fangers, has returned to Mystic Falls — and boy, is she ready to cause some trouble. Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec reveals that while the boys will discover her true identity quickly — since there was that little mix-up in the finale when Damon kissed Elena, but it was really Katherine! — the love triangle will get even more complicated in Season 2. Get the scoop on the new season below:
TVGuide.com: Nina Dobrev will be taking on two characters at the same time in the new season, playing both Elena and Katherine.
Plec: Nina is one of the nicest people in the world, and she makes the joke that Katherine is Nina on a Saturday night. Nina on a Saturday night is definitely feisty, but by no means an evil, manipulative, horrible troll. For her to be able to play both the moral center and soulful, compassionate character, and then the narcissistic, selfish, manipulative, naughty minx is big for her.
TVGuide.com: What is Katherine's goal this season?
Plec: She sets her sights on basically making sure that the Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Elena love story hits a snag. It's going to be fun seeing Stefan and Katherine come up against each other. Obviously it's fun to see Damon [Ian Somerhalder] and Katherine because there's a lot of history there, too, but the triangle becomes the square.
TVGuide.com: How long will it take Stefan and Damon to figure out it's not Elena?
Plec: They both know within the first 15 minutes of the first episode. Damon realizes he was duped, and Stefan comes face-to-face with Katherine. The fun of it is how Stefan responds to the moment, as opposed to how Damon responded to the moment.
TVGuide.com: You spent all of Season 1 leading up to Founders Day. What is the arc of Season 2?
Plec: What I loved about what Founders Day gave us is that we had this small town that was building up to its big anniversary, and the long arc of the show is that history repeats itself. We're going to do something like that this year, but we haven't landed on exactly what it is.
TVGuide.com: What came with the decision to kill off vampire Anna (Malese Jow) in the finale?
Plec: That is something, believe it or not, that Kevin [Williamson] and I never faltered on. We introduced the character knowing that her exit would [have] the most profound impact on Jeremy and Damon. For Damon, it was a glimpse of his humanity in that moment — he wanted to help her. We definitely knew she was there to make our heroes grow to a new level. We did it from a pure place and did it for a real reason.
TVGuide.com: Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is now so immersed in the vampire world, so what will we see for him this season?
Plec: We refuse to say what happens to Jeremy other than the fact that he's "alive." Regardless of that, the most important thing for Jeremy is that he's going to come out the other side of this with a much, much deeper and much stronger sense of himself. He's going to be asking what his purpose is on this planet, so to speak. It's all because of all the loss: parents, Vicki, Anna, and then his own desire to end his own human life.
TVGuide.com: How close will you stay to the novels as you carry on?
Plec: The deeper we get into the series, ironically, the more we're going to be taking from the books. That's cool because we strayed so far so quickly, just by definition of trying to shape a good story in the right way for television. To find ourselves naturally returning to the source material and the villains that you met, it's kind of awesome.

90210 Girls Flock to CBS/CW/Showtime Party

They’re no strangers to the red carpet, and last night (July 28) the girls of “90210” were spotted at the CBS, Showtime & CW TCA Summer Party in Beverly Hills.
AnnaLynne looked sexy as usual, wearing a low-cut tight black minidress. Jessica also opted for a short dress and chose to slick back her brown hair. Shenae went in the opposite fashion direction with a loose, flowing green dress.
"90210's" mother show, "Beverly Hills 90210," is having a mini reunion of sorts. Former heartthrobs Jason Priestley and Luke Perry are starring in a made-for-TV western that will air on The Hallmark Channel in 2011.
"Goodnight for Justice" will star Perry as John Goodnight, a circuit judge who witnessed the murder of his parents and a public official as a child and is "hell-bent on justice" as an adult.

Chace Crawford in Esquire UK

Chace Crawford brought the sass this month in Esquire UK, where he was dubiously styled as a New Yorker, if all New Yorkers wear helmets and ride the short bus. Sorry, Esquire UK; try again.
More importantly, Chace's website ran a snippet from his interview with Cosmo UK (yes, he did two UK magazines in one month).
So ... what do you appreciate in a woman?
"I like extroverted girls with a good sense of humour, and I like British girls because they're polite, and I like the accent too. My turn-offs? If a girl comes on too strong or gets sloppy drunk and looks a mess, that's never good."
Do you believe in love at first sight?
"I do. There's an instant response you get when you see someone special. You have to act on it. I've experienced it, and I love that feeling."
How do you feel about one-night stands?
"I'm not keen. It makes you wary of people's intentions. You've got to meet them through friends or someone you trust. I like to get to know a girl first - it's good to have a casual friendship and have fun."

90210: Season 3 Spoilers!

Spoilers help make the season 3 premiere seem like it’s right around the corner.. so go on! Check them out!
What’s the situation when 90210 returns? Are Adrianna and Navid still happy as clams?
Well, kinda. After the budding superstar took off on her summer tour, Navid is having a tough time dealing with a long-distance relationship. Expect things to escalate a bit when school’s back in session and Ade’s not there.
What's up with Annie & Liam?
Forget Liam. Annie’s found a sexy new mature man, and it’s all because of some spilled coffee. Thanks to a little run-in with a sexy stranger, Annie is going to find someone she has a lot in common with (theater geek, anyone?), but unfortunately, at least initially, Naomi’s ex will stand in the way of a little lovin’. Oh, and did we mention that this guy might just be related to Mr. Liam?
Any fun stuff coming up for Annalynne McCord?
Jen and Naomi are going to continue duking it out, only this time there are lawyers involved. And N’s eight-month pregnant sis is determined to keep her equally unstable sis away from the family funds, but luckily (?) for Naomi the court sides with her this time around.
Will there be another homosexual storyline?
According to Ausellio Files - One of these three, Navid, Liam, or Teddy, will be gay. And not in the “fleeting gay” way that Ade was but he will actually be gay. Showrunner Jennie Urman says that they “want to address the issue in a real and relatable way.”
Do you have any new information on this handsome, charismatic, Talented Mr. Ripley-type that’s joining 90210?
Indeed. I’m hearing that this kid is the son of an old friend of Ivy’s family. He won’t go to West Bev, because he’s already graduated from high school, which just gives him more time to throw himself at Ivy… and her mother — yes, he’s got balls, this boy. Let’s just say Dixon won’t be his biggest fan. Also, EW.com is reporting that the part will be played by former PASSIONS actor, Blair Redford.

Vampire Diaries: Comic Con Fans Get a Sneak Peek at Season 2

"Vampire Diaries" panel concluded at Comic-Con 2010 and we're here with your minute-by-minute report. Between the laughs, sarcastic comments (cgi abs, anyone?) and uber attractiveness of the cast gracing the stage (Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Michael Trevino, Stephen R. McQueen and Matt Davis. Plus, executive producers/writers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec), it was hard for us to pick out our favorite part!
4:30pm Marcos Siega, who has directed several episodes (as well as "True Blood" and other shows) moderates. A Season 1 sizzle reel opens the panel.
4:35 Ian's arrival gets the biggest cheer, followed by Paul and Nina.
4:39 Kevin won't give away whether Jeremy is going to be a vampire or not. "It's the whole fun of the return."
4:40 Julie Plec says that Tyler's mom will step in as interim mayor now that her husband is dead. Kevin said fans of the book know about the Lockwood family curse, which Tyler will learn about this season. "His uncle comes to town for the funeral... He may hold a lot of answers."
4:42 "I take my clothes off all the time," Ian says to great cheers as Kevin wonders which cast member should follow suit. The mention of Damon and Elena together, as a possibility, gets huge cheers.
4:43 Kevin said Stefan and Katherine will come face to face in the very first episode. "Katherine is a pimp," proclaims Nina. She said she likes to play "a bad girl" and "break hearts." Kevin says it's "freaky and scary" how good she is as Katherine.
4:44 Paul thinks the temptation for living blood will "never escape" Stefan. Kevin won't say whether he'll turn evil. "I'll teach you Paul," says Ian. HA!
4:45 Ian says "the nice Damon freaks me out. I don't know how to do it well." He said his favorite scenes are "the fun nutty kind of Damon."
4:46 Julie says Paul's hair has "it's own number on the call sheet." Nina adds that it's helicoptered in. Kevin says he has the best abs. Ian says they are "insane." The crowd roars their agreement.
4:48 Does Michael prefer Matt's sister or his mom for Tyler? "Why not both?" When asked "Caroline or Bonnie?," Steve replied, "Caroline" and then quickly tried to change the subject.
4:48 Paul hands Nina a Hershey's kiss. She wouldn't say whether Paul or Ian is a better kisser. "I'm the lucky one. I get to make out with them both."
4:51 Michael says he's scared to death because they don't want his transformation to look corny or to copy any other shows. Kevin says "it's really hard to fake that on a weekly basis," mentioning the werewolf movie he did once. "There will be a transformation. It'll happen. It'll be part of his journey."
4:52 "Anyone I date ends up dying," Steven points out. Kevin says deaths on the show have to come from "a place of good storytelling." He said Anna was going to be a smaller character but they loved her so much they expanded.
4:54 Will Damon turn good or more evil this season? Kevin said it won't be the easy answer.
4:55 Steve would like to see "Jeremy fight back a little more." Julie said his journey is "becoming a man" and figuring out "who you're supposed to be."
4:56 Matt would like his character to have a "filthy, dirty sex scene" with Jenna.
4:58 Paul thinks Stefan "should join a traveling circus." He enjoyed "indulging in the blood." He wants to see him "fulfill that vampire need" once in a while.
4:58 The panel joked about Stefan coming out of the closet.
4:59 "I'd love to do a flashback of Stefan in the 1980s dancing and having fun," Paul said. "I'm serious."
4:59 Nina said she'd like to see Elana "take on Katherine." She said she loves the depth to their characters.
5:00 Ian said he'd like to see flashbacks of Damon's past as well. "Front and center at a Rolling Stones concert in '69." He'd also like to see Damon get Stefan's bedroom.
5:00 Michael wants Tyler to have more time in the scripts (audience reply: awww). "It'd be funny to see some Lockwood ancestors fighting the Salvatores."
5:00 Julie and Kevin said there will be a lot more flashbacks in Season 2.
5:02 A fan asked Nina which Salvatore brother is more attractive. "Stefan is very attractive because he is protective and loves Elana unconditionally. And Damon is very attractive because he's fun and spontaneous." Paul declares that Stefan has bigger fangs.
5:03 The next fan asks which of the guys is least like their characters. "Paul is a down to earth, fun, chill guy," Nina answers. "Ian is exactly like his character." The two guys said they love making fun of each other on the show and in real life.
5:06 Ian said "I can't judge Damon" because that's bad for an actor to do. "It's an interesting journey with this Damon guy."
5:08 Nina joked, "we are actually vampires" when asked about how the special effects work.
5:09 Marcos said the fangs aren't digital. Kevin said they are careful not to show the guys talking with their fangs in.
5:10 Nina said they have black dots on their faces for the post production process. Paul said they used to wear contact lenses but the eyes are CGI now. Marcos said the hardest thing to paint in CGI "are their abs" to big laughs.
5:11 "You guys rock! Thank you!" Nina tells the crowd. Paul points out how many more people are here than last year.
5:12 Paul would love to play Damon for a minute. A fan asks Paul for the name card in front of him -- and he gives it to her! To huge applause, no less. We're wondering how much that will go for on eBay next week!
SPOILER!! Do not keep reading unless you want to know what happens in S2 Episode 1!!
5:13 Kevin makes a surprise announcement! They wrapped the first episode yesterday and they put together a taste of the Sept 9 premiere for Comic-Con! In the clips, Katherine tells Damon she never loved him and tells Stefan she came back for HIM. "The problem, Katherine, is that I hate you," Stefan says to her. She stabs him in the stomach and tells him "that sounds like the beginning of a love story, not the ending."
