Matt Lantner Promises Kissing, Threesomes & Truth Or Dare In His New Movie, 'Liars All!'

If you thought ’90210′ pushed the envelope, just wait till you read all about Matt Lantner's racy new role!
What attracted you to Liars All in the first place?
It’s a good script, number one. It’s a pyscho-sexual thriller, but it’s very character driven. There are a bunch of young adults who basically carry out this truth or dare game on New Year’s Eve in London — and it takes some bad turns. The way the characters interact, there are a lot of desires and a lot of denial happening so you kind of see how that affects the characters and the lengths they’ll go to get what they want.
What’s your character, Mike, all about?
Mike’s an intelligent guy. He’s the kind of guy that doesn’t always get the girl, and he doesnt know why. He doesn’t have that ‘it’ factor, that confidence. And one of the other characters in the movie does. So my Mike is envious and wants the girl he can’t have. It’s interesting, because it’s a new character I haven’t really gotten to play yet. It’s a very detailed and complex script, driven by the characters and their emotion. So it’s fun.
And which girl gets to play your love interest?
There’s two. I’m pining after one girl [Gillian Zinser's Missy] and this other girl is pining after me [Sara Paxton's Katie.] It’s like this whole web of desire. It always creates tension and drama.
Any hot scenes we should be particularly excited about?
We definitely have some steamy scenes for sure.
With both women at once?
Let me just tell you, it is at once. I was the sandwich there. The way it fits in is really interesting and intelligent. It’s not really done just for the ‘wow’ factor. … It got a little steamy there with me, Sara and Gillian. It was fun. Sarah Paxton is so fun. We’re making out, doing our thing — kissing, rubbing — and the next second, we’re cracking up after a take.
Was it awkward being in the middle of two girls?
Not really... how does that make me sound? I was like, ‘I’m going to work today and having a threesome.’ Those two girls are so much fun and just kind easy to laugh with. I know Gillian well, and I’ve actually known Sara through some friends. So we all kind of knew each other. We’re all professional, we’ve all done it before. So we’re kind of used to the making out thing.
Speaking of Gillian, were you happy you got to work together outside of 90210?
It was weird at first. I was talking to the producers and was like, ‘You know Gillian and I are on the same show, right? Is that going to be off?’ They were like, ‘No, we’re cool.’ We went with it. It’s great. Again, I play a completely different character from the character I play on 90210. And so does Gillian.
And should we be worried about you surviving the movie? The last time we saw you on the big screen, you were getting stabbed by Leighton Meester.
I shouldn’t say if I survive or not — but, yeah, whats up with that? I keep getting all these Twitter messages asking why I keep dying in movies! People are really upset about it for some reason. It’s nice to feel that love from Twitter, but I’m getting a LOT of complaints, like ‘You need to be in a movie where you dont die!’ It is what it is.

90210 Cast at Dodgers Stadium

Spotted: Michael Steger, Jessica Lowndes and Matt Lanter at Dodger Stadium on August 22

Jessica Lowndes had one busy day! The 90210 star spent the afternoon at Dodger Stadium . For the casual event Jessica went with long, tousled hair, flawless skin and a sheer bright pink lip. Later on in the evening, Jessica showed off a more polished look at the Audi Chopard Emmy week party at Cecconi’s Restaurant in Los Angeles. For the fashionable fete Jessica pulled her hair back into a dramatic, low ponytail. She sexed up her eyes with heavier eyeliner and kept the same fun pink pout from the afternoon. What do you think of Jess’ two looks?

VIDEO: '90210's' Matt Lanter on S3 and His New Film 'Vampires Suck'

Matt Lanter gave Jethro Nededog some great scoops! It's already out there that he and Annie (Shenae Grimes) are taking their relationship to the next level with their first kiss, but Lanter reveals that Liam's newly discovered half-brother (played by Evan Ross) will complicate things for the couple. Also, Naomi (AnnaLyne McCord) may not be out of the picture and we should probably expect more girl fights, though the may not be physical (damn) over Liam.
He also gave some new details on the earthquake that will open the season, including the possibility that not everyone will get out unscathed.
"We've got an earthquake coming up, Episode 1," he reveals. "So, we're back, we're in your face with this big event that happens. So, it's kind of cool to see what happens to these people during the earthquake. I think someone is going to be injured in the earthquake. Yeah, it's kind of a big deal."

90210's Matt Lanter on Poking Fun at Robert Pattinson and His 90210 Love Life

Matt Lanter has a big couple of months ahead of him. Not only is he gearing up for the return of 90210, but in two weeks we'll see him do his best Edward Cullen in the Twilight spoof, Vampires Suck. At the Summer TCA, I stole Lanter away for a few minutes, where he talked about his respect for Robert Pattinson and his fears of Twi-hard backlash.
BuzzSugar: How much fun was it to spoof Twilight in Vampires Suck?
Matt Lanter: I had a blast doing it. I've worked with those guys before on Disaster Movie, so I knew I was going to have a good time. And to be able to do a Twilight spoof — let's be honest, they had it coming, right?
Buzz: Do you worry about fan backlash?
ML: Like a bunch of teen girls showing up at my house? A little bit, a little bit. So please don't hurt me.
Buzz: Have you met Rob [Pattinson]?
ML: I have not! He seems like a great guy, though. He really does. Honestly, I'm a fan. He does a great job in the Twilight series.
Buzz: So you've seen the Twilight movies?
ML: Yeah, I've seen them. I actually read the first book. I did my character research!
Buzz: Can you do an Edward Cullen impersonation for us?
ML: I'm not going do a re-enactment for you! But I had the eyes and I had the hair. My hair was longer too, I had a very good, disheveled Rob Pattinson look going on. It was great, we pretty much closely follow the Twilight film. So a lot of the scenes in Twilight we're actually doing. What's also kind of cool is that we also follow our own storyline. It was fun.
Buzz: Did you get to do the sparkling like diamonds scene?
ML: I did, I did do the diamond scene. And I was naked in front of — well, not completely. I had a little loin cloth on in front of like 300 extras. You know you have that nightmare where you get up in front of everyone, and you're talking, and all of a sudden you're naked? That actually happened.
Buzz: Let's talk about 90210. What's happening with Liam next season?
ML: Well, at the end of last season he broke up with Naomi and he was getting a little bit emotionally closer to Annie. This season we see that kind of blossom into a romantic relationship. In the first couple of episodes we've shot, we share our first kiss. It's really romantic, it's out on another boat that wasn't blown up by creepy Jasper. I've got a half brother coming in, which is a surprise to everybody.
Buzz: Is Jasper still going to be around in the next season?
ML: Not yet. I don't know, we're a few episodes in and they haven't explained last season. Last season we ended with Jasper blowing up Liam's boat, then Liam beat him to a pulp. But we haven't seen the ramifications of that yet.
Buzz: Will Liam's anger management issues come to a breaking point?
ML: I don't know, it would kind of be fun to play. I love playing Liam when he gets to do the bad stuff, like racing cars and stealing boats.
Buzz: You said that Liam and Annie's romance develops, so does that mean that Liam is not the character who's going to come out of the closet?
ML: That's what everyone's been asking me about! We're two or three episodes in and I don't think that happens for a few more episodes. There's a possibility of it heading toward any of the three guys.
Buzz: Were you surprised when you found out the storyline was coming?
ML: I read it in an article just like everybody else. My picture popped up and it said, "Gay this season?" and I said "What?!"
Buzz: You know people are placing bets, making polls . . .
ML: I know! So I voted for . . . Dixon.
Buzz: Dixon wasn't actually one of the contenders.
ML: I mean . . . I voted for Navid!

90210's Matt Lanter Dishes on Season 3

Matt Lanter opens up on 90210's upcoming gay bombshell, what’s next in store for his character, and why Zac Efron would play him in a biopic of his life:
Q: Do you know who’s coming out?
A: Yeah, I know.
Q: Are you comfortable with who’s coming out?
I can’t tell you guys anything. I’m being very tight lipped. This is one of the things, they don’t do this often, but they actually sent out a statement saying “Hey guys, don’t talk about it.” Yeah, so I can’t tell you much. But you know what? Whoever it’s going to be, he’s going to have a monumental task on hand. It’s a subject that’s very real and prevalent in high schools now than it was 10 years ago. From what I understand, they are going to be doing it in a very serious way. It’s not going to be one episode off one on kind of thing. It’s going to be a season-long kind of thing. It’s going to add a new element to the show.
Q: They’ve been giving you some pretty challenging storylines.
A: It’s been great. I hope I get to see more. Last year, we got to see Liam’s dad. There was a run-in with his stepfather. More of that. Keep it coming. I think the fans want to know about Liam. They want to know what he’s about. We got a little of it last year.
Q: Is there a danger of a character we’ve been introduced to as straight coming out after Adrianna’s storyline?
A: Well, I don’t know. See is the difference. That was kind of done a couple of episodes, kind of dabbled in. But this one, they’re going for it all the way. It’s done. I guess that’s what I mean by taking it serious. This character is going to struggle, this character is going to find himself, and a lot of that is going to be shown. Where last year with the Adrianna thing, oh, OK, this is what we’re doing for a couple of episodes, and then we’re done. So I think this going to be done very differently.
Q: What’s up for Liam this season?
A: He’s been with Annie a little bit. There’s a little bit more of a romantic relationship with Annie. It started to blossom a little at the end of last season. Now we share a kiss this season and it goes a little farther. And yeah. I got a half brother coming in. Last year, we had Liam teasing her a little bit. Then last year, we saw them as friends, having an emotional connection. Different from Naomi, which was just physical. We’ll see if it stays. We know on 90210, it’s breakups and heartaches.
Q: Who would play you biopic?
A: Zac Efron. He’s a good leading man, he’s out there. It’s all about the hair. I’ve met him and he’s a real cool guy, so maybe him.

90210's Finale and A Few Spoilers on S3

OK, it's not like our expectations were Lost-finale high, but after 90210's Shenae Grimes, AnnaLynne McCord and Trevor Donovan promised us a "crazy" season-ender with loads of cliffhangers, we expected some juicy stuff—none of which really transpired!
So what gives? We were purposely mislead? Not so, says our source. Here's what happened to the 90210 finale that never was...
What Went Missing: Ummm, how about the whole "who really ran over that homeless guy" storyline?! Back in March, Trevor told us the season two finale would answer the question left open from season one's final ep. "In one of the last scenes of the finale, you find out who actually hit the homeless guy," he teased. "I can guarantee it comes out of left field."
But come finale night, the only thing remotely left fieldish was the complete exclusion of said reveal. How do you explain that one, CW?!
According to our reliable 90210 source, some story changes were made post-production and the rumored "real" killer twist was canned. In the end, Annie made peace with her crime, largely due to an encouraging chat with Liam (Matt Lanter), and solemnly wandered home to confess everything to the 'rents.
And that's it. If you're hoping to see more of Annie's hit-and-run issues in season three, don't. The Powers that Be are leaving the story as is from here on out? Annie was in fact the drunk driving guilty party.
Bright side? Now that she's got that monkey off her back, maybe we'll get to see a fun and carefree Annie, again.
What Actually Happened: Annalynne and Shenae both promised "the worst thing in the world" would fall on Naomi's shoulders, and lo and behold, the poor girl was seemingly raped by the creepy teacher she falsely accused of sexual harassment earlier in the season. So...there's that.
What About Rob Estes?! Principal Wilson is officially out of the hiz-ouse. For those 90210ers awaiting a proper sendoff for the family patriarch, we have some bad news—there was never a big to-do planned for Rob's final days on the show, and we won't see him again.
Tristan Wilds reveals:
"You'll see another part of American culture. It's the plight of the single mom," he said of Dixon and Annie's now-solo mama, Debbie. "You get to see what she goes through and how she copes with dealing with two kids and still trying to find a job and keep a house et cetera, et cetera. It'll be a very different dynamic, but it's still very, very true to life."
And the one teensy tease he'll give about season 3: "It's gonna be a good senior year."

The Season Premiere is Monday, Sept. 13
