Excerpt from an article by Curt Wagner
It’s been a month since the cast and crew of “The Vampire Diaries” wrapped filming, but Katerina Graham still can’t believe all that went down this season.
“It’s just been such an amazing season and so much has been going on—so much storyline and so much development of characters,” said Graham who plays wonderful witch Bonnie Bennett in the CW hit.
And for those of you have saw the episode “The Sun Also Rises” episode [Spoiler alert if you haven’t!], one of the toughest things to watch was the death of Jenna Gilbert, played by Sara Canning.
Fans aren’t the only ones who were sad to say goodbye, Graham said.
“I think even if I said absolutely, it would be an understatement,” she said of learning Canning would be leaving. “It was really tough because she was like, the perfect student, I guess. If it was a classroom, or a high school, she was the perfect student.
“She was amazing. She is an incredible actress, and really lovely to work with, really professional.”
Is it sad to see Sara Canning go, if indeed she’s gone.
Oh yeah … There aren’t many of us girls out there, you know? At the beginning there were five, and then there were four, and now there are just the three of us. It’s sad. You spend years with people and you grow close to them and you form this family. And don’t forget, we shoot out in Atlanta but we’re not from there. So we kind of just have each other [out there], so it’s very difficult to see that happen. It’s very much a reality check to realize that any one of us can go at any moment and that it is a job and that our job is to do our job and go home.
Is there any way Bonnie can bring Jenna back?
You know, I’m pitching it. [Laughs.] But it is what it is. I can’t even fathom writing half the stuff that Kevin and Julie write. They’re really talented and if they do something it’s because they have a vision and it’s their art. Our job is to help express their art in the best way possible.
